About Me

I am a PhD student in Second Language Acquisition at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My research interests are informed by the years I spent teaching high school Spanish to children from racially and economically marginalized backgrounds. I am particularly interested in the way varieties of Spanish are used and taught in secondary classrooms, with the goal of supporting efforts to foster critical multilingual awareness in world language teaching.
