About Me

I am a PhD candidate in Second Language Acquisition at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My research interests are informed by the years I spent teaching high school Spanish to children from racially and linguistically marginalized backgrounds. I am particularly interested in language ideology and linguistic identity in secondary Spanish classrooms, with the goal of using research to bring critical multilingual awareness to world language teaching.
